Genevieve Eversea seems to be a quiet, happy young woman, but beneath the surface lurks somebody very different. She’s in love with Harry Osborne…or is she? Her parents have decided to open their house and estate to friends and some of the ton. One invited guest is Alexander Moncrieffe, Duke of Falconbridge. Only Ian Eversea knows the real reason he’s accepted, now he’s scared a scandal may be revealed or he’d be forced into a duel.

The Duke befriends Genevieve and finds she has many hidden depths, an unexpected bonus as he’s out to seduce her, to avenge her brother’s bad behavior. What he doesn’t expect, is to really like her and enjoy her company, especially after she confides in him about her love for Harry.

Ms. Long has written an interesting tale, with many unexpected twists and turns, as the house guests intermingle. The diverse characters were very well written, and helped bring the tale to life in a unique way. When Harry tells Genevieve he’s going to propose to her best friend, things change dramatically. Her family is surprised at the sudden change in her, especially when the duke begins to pay her extra attention, making the story heat up when she asks him about love and other sensual things.

The sex scenes between these two are very hot, also very explicit. Genevieve is a heroine out of her depth and finds she lusts for more, but wonders can Harry make her feel this way. The author has pulled this reviewer deep into the story, far enough for me to want to learn what happened when this interesting tale ended.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
