Shea Jameson lives in a world where magic has reawakened and witches are hunted and killed. Women with the gift must hide and others who are innocent are taken. Shea is a witch who has visions of fire. Then she does a spell in public and is hunted. Torin appears in her life and saves her from a mob. He is tall, handsome and she feels incredibly attracted to him. He claims to be her Eternal who has waited centuries for her to awaken. The story she tells him is at first unbelievable, yet somehow familiar. Shea has to take a journey of remembrance before she can fully trust Torin and find an artifact before other elements join to destroy the world.

I found this story quite well written, captivating and exciting. Ms Hastings gives her reader a real page turner and characters to fall in love with. Torin is just wonderful. He could really be the complete alpha as he knows more than Shea, but he is patient as she remembers herself…although it almost kills him. I liked that Shea laid down the rule that they were a partnership so it was good to see him back down sometimes and show pride when his woman handled a situation. He’s no push over…but apart from all the usual characteristics of an immortal, he is also gentle, kind almost perfect!

The plot is tightly written with lots of twists and turns. There are also a bevy of secondary characters that I am sure will appear in future books. Their stories must be told and some of the plot lines were left open. I know I would love to follow this series to see where it all ends and what happens to the other characters. I can recommend this book to all paranormal lovers.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
