For firefighter Griff Muir, loving his best friend, Dante, was pure hell some days. Scared that if he admits the truth, he will lose the one person who means the world to him, Griff suffers in silence, watching as Dante flits from woman to woman, never admitting his true feelings, not even to himself. Until Dante comes to Griff asking for his help and has a solution that may tear them apart. Griff would do anything for Dante…the question is can he come out of this with his heart intact or will his secrets come out in the open, destroying their friendship? Or will Griff find that Dante feels the same way, paving the way for a love that will heal a heart and fulfill the soul?

I don’t know what to say about HOT HEAD by Damon Suede except to admit that this is a book that will have you running the gauntlet of emotions. Happiness, sadness, anger and fear. You experience them all with the characters, Griffin “Griff” and Dante. It is like you are on a roller coaster, never knowing where the story will take you next. Damon Suede is a very talented author who completely captivated me from the beginning with his firefighters, a story that took a traditional romance and turned it on its ear and delivers some of the hottest sex scenes I have ever read. HOT HEAD is more about two people admitting they have feelings for one another; it’s about finding the strength to go after what you want-damn the consequences. It’s about love-be it in friendship, family or romantic love. It’s about that connection you feel when you find that special someone(s) in your life that make your heart light and your soul at peace. Damon Suede delivers a complicated, wonderful and absolutely enthralling story of all these and more. This is an author who knows how to create amazing characters, capture his readers’ imagination and doesn’t let them go until the last emotional drop is wringing from his readers.

Told in Griffin’s POV, you get to see how this gentle bear of a man wrestles with his heart as he tries to figure out who he is in reality. Is he gay? Bisexual? Just who is Griffin Muir? That is the cusp of the story and you get the chance to take that journey alongside Griff as he finds the peace he needs and craves in Dante’s arms. You really get to know Dante as well. The man who hides his heart with meaningless one night stands, determined to survive in a bad economy, doing his job and enjoying his family as well as his friendship with Griffin. You meet Dante’s family (and Griffin’s surrogate family) & some amazing secondary characters that have me hoping the author brings them back in future books. The characters are well rounded, multi-dimensional and so lifelike, that I wanted to go see if my firehouse had guys like these because man, I was squirming more than once just from the fantasies I was having about buff, hunky firemen. The sex scenes are hot, very erotic and show a connection between Griff and Dante that will make your heart melt even as your knees get weak. I was quite afraid the computer screen was going to blow up from the sparks flying between these two. Damon Suede definitely knows his characters and gives them free reign to grow in the story which I loved.

HOT HEAD is gritty, sexy and very well written. Damon Suede delivers a timeless story that will keep you spellbound till the very end. Then once that last page is read, you are aching for more, racing to the web to see if this author is planning anymore stories set in this wonderful world he has created. I definitely plan to grab this in paperback so I can relax in bed reading it then jump the honey from all the sex scenes. Damon Suede is now on my auto-buy list and I am eager to see what else he has in store for his readers.

If you are looking for an emotional, unique story filled with hunky firemen, scorching hot sex that will blow your mind and romance that is based in friendship, then grab HOT HEAD. I do recommend you make sure you have eaten dinner, done the dishes or other house chores before starting because once you start this book, and you won’t want to put it down. I highly recommend HOT HEAD if you enjoy complicated relationships, friendships, love and hunky firemen who find the way to be true to themselves.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
