Once upon a time the stunningly beautiful youngest daughter of the king dropped her favorite sex toy down a well. Of course the frog who rescued it for her was a handsome prince under the spell of a wicked witch. The princess promises to be the frog’s friend and breaks her promise. And in true fairy tale fashion they get married and live happily ever after. Or do they? There’s the prince’s first love, his footman, in the picture as well.
The sex in this story is erotic, hot, varied and inventive: MF, MM, and MMF. The Dom/ sub aspect is not quite as good, it isn’t always true to the way people in that lifestyle actually behave, but it still adds to the heat and variety in the story.
The princess doesn’t appeal to me, as she is incredibly self-centered and selfish, but this is more-or-less true to the fairy tale, and it suits the prince who is the one who wants her. Actually, he’s pretty selfish too, so they’re possibly a good match. Character wise, the footman is the most appealing one and readers will be hoping he gets a happy ending.
The book doesn’t name the editor. This is probably a good thing, as there are some seriously head banging errors. For example: a footman, who at times is also called a groom and even a coachman; a well that turns into a pond at the critical moment to make the plot work; a misplaced hymen (has neither the author nor the editor of this erotic romance never checked such a basic fact?); a road that turns into a floor; a father who always lets her do whatever she pleases but suddenly says no (again, to make the plot work); not to mention the soldiers who manage to march while riding horses; and a range of grammatical errors and missed words.
Not a bad read, but it definitely doesn’t live up to its potential.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
