Welcome Arlene Webb today & a Contest

Today's Contest Information/Prize: Arlene Webb is giving away one e-copy of her book Last Request to one lucky reader who leaves a comment on the post. Please make sure to leave an email address in with the comment so we can contact you in case you win. Contest is open to everyone and will close on April 29th.

How long did it take to write the story? From the day you came up with the idea to the very last day of writing.
Around a month or two for Last Request, a short story, but who knows, I’m not organized enough to keep track.

Tell us about your latest release/Upcoming release.
Last Request is an M/F erotica, and part of Decadent Publishing’s one-night stand series.

What made you want to write?
A passion for it.

What authors do enjoy reading in your downtime?
Too many to list.

How important is the beginning chapter - the opening - the first few lines?
Crucial. It has to hook readers who have so many other things they could be doing.

In what order do you write? For example starting beginning to end, combining parts, in random order or in development cycle?
One line after the other, without an outline.

You are called upon, at a school, to tell those interested in becoming an author, all the ins and outs of good writing skills and getting published. What are the three important elements in writing, publishing and promoting that you would give them?
Learn the craft, write from the heart, don’t give up.

Do you plot out each chapter? Or are you a seat of the pants writer?
I wing it.

Do you listen to music while you write? If so what are your favorites Artists and or albums?
Classical or soft rock, but unless its country music which annoys, the background stays in the background.

Out of all your characters which one do you identify the most with and why?
None really. I’m boring.

Out of all your books, do you have a favorite book/character(s)? What is it about that particular book/character that you enjoy so much?
Malcolm James (sci-fi/romance/suspense, a four novel series) has been with me the longest, but I hate picking favorites.

What are your writing goals for the future?
Finish up ones that need revisions and get them out there.

Now a few fun questions:

How would you describe yourself using only five words?
Caucasian female 5’4” brown hair, eyes.

If you could write a warning label for yourself as a person or an author, what would it say?
Look past the sarcasm.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Nah. I’m boring.

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
That I’m not on meds or escaped a looney bin?

If you could go any place in the world and to any time period, what place or time period would you choose to visit?
The origin, as long as I can view from a safe bubble.

What is your favorite super power and why do you want it?
I’d love to fly.

Last Request by Arlene Webb
A 1NS Story
Decadent Publishing

Secrets: Joan not only knows how to keep them, she hoards information. After all, blurting truths could prolong life and that’s not something she’s willing to allow.

As a renowned journalist, exposing lies is Wesley’s job, but being honest extends to revealing his own agenda as well. He admits on the application he’s been asked to write a story kicking up any dirt he can on Madam Evangeline’s dating service.

Desires: Joan has a reputation to uphold. Labeled a promiscuous monster, authorities shouldn’t be surprised her offer to finally tell them where the skeletons are comes at a price. One date, one night, one final fling.

Wesley doesn’t need one date, one night, a simple fling.  Women eyeball him all the time. He knows some hookup service can’t find him his heart’s desire, a sweetheart to cherish for a long and committed lifespan, but he won’t make it a slam-dunk for them by saying otherwise.

Warning Notice:  If secrets stay buried, desire is feared instead of embraced, electricity will flow and not in a good way.
Available April 28th from Decadent Publishing
