How long did it taketo write the story? From the day you came up with the idea tothe very last day of writing.
This one was a year. I kept adding to the story even after Ithought it finished. It's about my life, and I'm not dead yet. LOL
Tell us about your latestrelease/Upcoming release.
It's a book of short stories from my life, not just my life ingeneral, but growing up hearing impaired/deaf and how others treated me as aresult, misunderstood me, or discriminated.
What made you wantto write?
Not sure where that started. When I was in school, I loved writingessays and book reports and it just seemed to evolve as I grew older…intopoems, songs, and then novels.
What authors doenjoy reading in your downtime?
So many! Bev Pettersen, Christina Courtenay, Elizabeth Chadwick.
How important isthe beginning chapter - the opening - the first few lines?
It's a good idea to start with something that grabs the attention.I like to think of it like this: If I read this as a kindle sample, would Iwant to buy it? I found this super hard with a memoir though.
In what order do you write? For example startingbeginning to end, combining parts, in random order orin development cycle?
I just start writing and see where the story takes me. I start andI'm done when the story is done. I sometimes go back and change things. Butmany times, I've started a story and it took a whole different direction fromwhat I intended.
You are called upon, at aschool, to tell those interested in becoming an author, all the ins andouts of good writing skills and getting published. What are the three importantelements in writing, publishing and promoting that you would give them?
Write what you love. Research the publishers before you sign onwith them. Ask other authors questions about them. Promoting…be careful not tobe a broken record. People will get sick of hearing the same thing over andover.
Do you plot out eachchapter? Or are you a seat of the pants writer?
Seat of the pants.
Do you listen to musicwhile you write? If so what are your favorites Artists and or albums?
No. I'm deaf. I can play it in my aid, but I have to listen toclosely…no.

Kelly in A Facebook Affair.She's a deaf woman trying to find love and be a self-confident woman despitethe bullying endured in school.
Out of all your books, doyou have a favorite book/character(s)? What is it about that particularbook/character that you enjoy so much?
Margaret in Votes for Vixens.(Not yet released) She doesn't take crap from anyone and believes in havingrights and a say.
Do you have a book thatyou you just cringe? If so, which one is it, and why?
Perfume by Patrick Suskind. I know it's all hyped up and the moviewas good, but the book went on and on and on…page after page about what thelooney hero smelled…
What are your writinggoals for the future?Get something in paperback.
