Juliana Fiori has a zest for life and is as bold as she is impulsive. She is definitely not a simpering English lady. She breaks the rules. Refuses to be someone she isn’t and can throw a punch. She is a scandal in the Ton and is on every gossip’s lips. She is the one woman the Duke of Leighton wants to stay away from. Simon Pearson is called the ‘Duke of Disdain’ as he prefers to have spotless reputation, no scandal and above all, keep his title untainted. Simon has all that until he meets Juliana one night hiding in his carriage. What begins as a lesson in propriety turns into something neither anticipate-love. Can the scandalous lady and a scandal resistant Duke find a way to listen to their hearts?

Sarah MacLean delivers a fun, wild ride from start to finish in her latest book. With the right amount of humor, intriguing characters and a fast paced storyline, the reader is transported to the regency time where men were rakes and the ladies who wanted to tame them. I fell in love with Simon and Juliana. They were a breath of fresh air to me as a reader. They complimented one another. Simon got wild Juliana to settle down a little and Juliana got Simon to take a few risks. The author does a great job in creating a storyline where these two shine. The third book in the series, ELEVEN SCANDALS TO START TO WIN A DUKE’S HEART is a joy to read.

Meet Juliana. She is reckless, impulsive and definitely not a simpering society lady. The ton gossips about her but for Juliana, rules are meant to be broken. When she steals into Duke of Disdain’s carriage she ends up finding a man who will steal her heart even as she vows to show him that passion in life & love is worth shaking up a staid life. I loved Juliana. She was an outside the box sort of girl that had me the moment she stepped onto the page. Fun, witty and definitely one of those characters you can’t help but fall in love with. The reader is treated to a different sort of Heroine-one with spunk and this author does a marvelous job in letting her shine.

Simon, Duke of Leighton is determined to keep his title free of scandal but when he crosses paths with Juliana, he is determined to teach this impulsive beauty that she needs a few lessons in propriety. The battle of wills begins…who will win? Oh man, Simon Leighton is a man who made me want to rattle his chain-a lot! He is staid, proper and determined to keep his secrets just that-secret. When he stepped onto the page, wow…was I flustered. He had hidden depths and when he was in the room with Juliana, the sparks were flying. I was afraid my paperback was going to combust in my hands. He is very enjoyable and putting him with a heroine that is his opposite worked beautifully here. The author delivers some of the past characters from the other two books as well and the reader is given a treat to see them after their story ended.

I highly recommend you read ‘Nine Rules to break when romancing a Rake’ & ‘Ten Ways to be adored when landing a lord ‘first. They will give you the background to the series and we meet Simon’s sister in one of them as well. Sarah MacLean is a masterful storyteller who delivers hours of reading pleasure with her ELEVEN SCANDALS TO START TO WIN A DUKE’S HEART. I can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeve for readers to enjoy.
