Catherine trades her empty nest of a home to a lovely cottage in the Cevennes Mountains. She finds work as a seamstress and she finds life isn’t as lovely when you stay put in a vacation idyll of your past. Meeting Patrick Castagnol has Catherine’s head reeling as she is wined, dined and romanced. Life is perfect until Catherine’s sister comes by with news that may shake up the new found life Catherine has created.

Rosy Thornton delivers a lovely story of family, new lives made and more set in the lush background of the France countryside. Catherine is a wonderful character. Full of life and determination, the author gives the reader a heroine who is strong, intelligent and determined to change her life. The writing is lyrical and delightful, the background scenes of French countryside and beyond is very vivid. This is an author who knows how to create and tell a story very well. The author does a wonderful job in creating a meaningful story from everyday life.

Catherine is a woman in a flux. Divorced, her kids moved out and onto their own lives and an ailing mother has her worried; Catherine decides to change her life. Moving to the one place she adored in the past, she makes some changes that leave her happier than ever. I enjoyed Catherine immensely and found her quite enjoyable, her dynamics with her sister, the townspeople and in particular, Patrick. The question readers will find is will Catherine fight for Patrick or walk away from the one man who stole her heart.

TAPESTRY OF LOVE is a charming portrait of a woman who decides to move away to a place she loved in her past, to make a new life for herself and find the peace she desires. Ms. Thornton writes a charming story of a woman who is both compelling and captivating in her own way. With an intimate way of storytelling, this author delivers more than a typical ‘women leaves-changes life’ kind of story. Within TAPESTRY OF LOVE, the reader is treated to a world that is as lush and full as secrets as ever. I enjoyed this latest book by a new to me author and I look forward to seeing what else this author has in store for her readers.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
