Charles
de Lacey always knew he was going to be the Duke when his father dies and when
he finds out someone is willing to blackmail his family to get their
inheritance and the claim of the duke-ship. He sets off to find this
blackmailer and in the process finds a woman who will steal his heart and
tempts him like no other has before. Tessa Neville may be part of this plot to
take down his family but Charles never anticipates having her intrigue him the
way she does. With his whole future at stake, can Charles find a way to stop
the blackmailer and pray that it isn’t the woman he has fallen in love with?
I
love this series. Ms. Linden delivers a edge of your seat story that leaves you
breathless. With the right amount of mystery, romance and more, she sets out to
give the reader two characters to root for-Charles de Lacey, Lord Gresham and
Tessa Neville. These two had sparks flying way before the got onto the page.
Strong, feisty and beautiful, Tessa intrigues and at the same time, exasperates
Charles at every level. Is she part of this scheme to take his inheritance or
is she a victim in it all? That is the question that haunts Charles as time
runs down to the wire as he tried to solve the mystery and keep his
inheritance. But Charles has never met a woman like Tessa. She is smart,
willing to go toe-to-toe with him and knows that as a commoner, she can never
be a duchess so she tries to steel her heart against Charles. The author does a
great job in this final book of the Truth about a Duke and the reader
will NOT be disappointed at all. The ending alone had me gasping
in shock and the mystery that surrounds Charles’s father had me eagerly
flipping the pages to see what happens next, what new information Charles finds
out and more.
This
was a solid story that tied up all the threads from the past two books and
gives the reader a story to enjoy immensely. With the right amount of simmering
sexual tension, mystery and more, the reader is treated to a world where the
men find love is not as scary as they seem and the women who bring them to
their knees. If you enjoy strong heroines, a hero bent on getting the truth and
two strong willed people falling head first into love, well then pick up THE
WAY TO A DUKE’S HEART and settle in for one wild ride from start to finish.
I love this authors writing style and she has made a new fan of her books. I
look forward to seeing what else she has in store for her readers next.
