One act of mercy was all that it took when David Anderson died. Now he has a job in the afterlife as a Reaper, one who guides untimely souls into the afterlife. Immortal, he has to atone for his sins before he can give the reaper job up and he feels he will never reach that as he feels his humanity slip away. Until a drop dead gorgeous woman declares he isn’t real or that she always has a way of knowing who is dead. Sarah Griffith is a scientist, one that is skeptical of reapers, afterlife and all that. She wants facts, conclusions based on science and who cares if she can sense the dead. But she gives David that spark he needs as she makes him long for passion and life even as Fate has one last job for David to do…the problem is it just might cause David to lose the one person  that has come to mean so much to him-Sarah.

I have got to admit, this was one new author that intrigued me by the book blurb alone…well the cover isn’t half bad either. A conflicted reaper, a skeptical scientist and lots of fun are found within the pages of GRAVE INTENTIONS. This is the first book in a delightful new series that will surely thrill you right from the beginning. The story is a character rich drama that has paranormal bits to enjoy as well as some wonderful bantering between our dead soldier turned reaper and skeptical scientist. The author does quite a bit of world building, introducing the characters that hopefully will have scenes and stories in future books of the series and gives the reader a conflicted couple to root for. The writer does a great job in setting up the series even as you get to know the characters as well as the world they live in.

Meet David. A soldier who has done things he isn’t proud of, a last bit of mercy has left him as a Reaper, death’s immortal guide for souls into the afterlife. David is lonely and feels that last bit of humanity trying to slip away and he is losing it day by day. Until meeting Sarah Griffith leaves him spinning. She is sexy, questions everything around her and has this uncanny ability to sense the dead. When these two meet, sparks fly. Can David find a way to atone for all his sins and get out of the reaper business for good or will fate take the one bright light he has left-Sarah? I loved these two and the rest of the cast of characters. It is a character driven story that leaves you eager for more. The characters are very well written and I am eager to see if some secondary ones become focal points in future books. The story is fast paced, has a few predictable twists but overall it was just pure entertainment from start to finish.

GRAVE INTENTIONS is one of those books that leave a smile on your face all the way to the end. This is one author I plan to keep an eye on in the future. If you enjoy a romantic story with a dash of paranormal to enjoy then grab GRAVE INTENTIONS and settle in for a few hours of reading entertainment. I can’t wait to see who the next book is about.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement
