Samantha’s
life as an attorney is pretty ordinary until the day she arrives at her office
to find a death threat, compete with a large knife, on her chair. Then her
usual PI is off in Vegas getting married and his new partner presses all her
buttons. Between Zack taking her to a BDSM club, and dodging bullets and
knives, Sam’s life is suddenly not so ordinary anymore.
I really
enjoyed this story. It is a romantic suspense overlaid with a strong layer of
BDSM, which means lots of action both inside and outside the dungeon. The fast
pace and the hot sex keep the reader breathless, and the attitudes of the hero
and heroine will have the reader alternately laughing, gasping, and spilling
beverages on the screen. Zack deliberately pushes Sam’s envelope and she has a
wicked sharp mind and sense of humor.
They are
wonderful characters, full bodied, rounded, deep with many layers, but so very
suited to each other and the chemistry sizzles. It was easy to see why they’d
do some of the things they did. A couple of the minor characters were very well
drawn too, coming to life with just a few words, but words that gave a real identity
to them
If it hadn’t
been for a small timeline glitch this book would have been marked even higher,
I loved it so much. Plot, characters, action, humor. A wonderful read.
