Years before, Isabelle Mears gave her innocence to a dishonorable rogue, who left her high and dry. Ruined and cast out of society, she has quietly turned her life around and has shielded her son from the cruel words that whisper around her. Having a calm and ordered life soothes Isabelle until she finds herself face to face with a man who rescued her boisterous son from the pounding surf.

George Upperton is desperate. He has debts that need to be paid, a meddling family and when he rescues this cute little boy, he finds himself looking forward to seeing just who Isabelle Mears is all about. But Isabelle is determined to not fall for this charming rogue of a man. Can she put her doubts aside and let her fall for the one man who has stolen her heart?

I really enjoyed Ms. MacNamara’s latest release, A MOST DEVILISH ROGUE. It was touchingly romantic as well as gives the reader a look into a time when men where rogues and rakes and the women who could tame them. The writing was tight; story flowed at a nice even pace and kept my attention for hours until the last page was read. The characters alone are where the gems are in this book. They are enjoyable, well written and had me falling in love with them even before I was half way through chapter two. I loved the way this author made way society’s rules about men a part of the storyline. With a deft sweep of this author’s hand, this reader was transfixed, flipping pages to see what would happen next.

Meet Isabelle and George. A woman ruined as per society’s rules and the other is a man trying to figure his place in the world, even as society tries to dictate what he should be. The author does a marvelous job in creating these two main characters. They were witty, complex yet showed their vulnerabilities and very entertaining. I enjoyed the way these two would banter back and forth plus you could literally feel the sparks explode between them. The secondary characters kept the story flowing smoothly and I loved the emotional depth the author wove through the story to give it more character.

A MOST DEVILISH ROGUE is a story of strength after adversity, for finding happiness when you least expect it and forgiveness as well the healing power of love. Ms. MacNamara is a wonderfully talented author who knows how to weave a spell around her readers with this latest book from her and I, for one, am excited to see what else she has in store for us. If you enjoy a sensual regency romance with unique characters, a gripping yet emotional storyline then get ready for A MOST DEVILISH ROGUE. It will surely ring all your bells and keep you reading into the wee hours of the night.
