Welcome Nikki Duncan today and a Giveaway

Welcome to Love Romances & More Reviews Nikki Duncan. Comfortable?

I'm always comfortable when spending time with you!

Let’s begin, shall we? Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

A little about myself... As a kid I did competitive gymnastics, as a teen I did competitive horse showing with my Arabian horse, as an adult I do competitive time trials against life. Yes, I lose every time to the needs of kids, family, friends and readers.

Seriously, though I did do those competitive things, I have two daughters. One has her sights set on being a band director as an adult and the other wants to be a professional stunt woman on horses. Funny sidebar: the one who wants to be a stunt woman is afraid a high beam with a huge mat under it so she quit gymnastics. I've been married for 19 years (after 3 years of dating). I work a day job and am actively involved in volunteering for my kids' activities.

My house and life are a little chaotic.

Were you an avid reader as a child? What type of books did you enjoy reading?

I don't remember exactly when I caught the reading bug, or how because no one in my house was ever a big reader, but I can't recall a time that I didn't love books. Maybe it's because I grew up when we didn't all have cell phones and iPods and tablets and computers before we were out of Elementary school. Maybe it's because I have always been most comfortable alone in a room with a great book.

As for what I read, the earliest books I remember loving were the young adult romances of that time. One book that I loved, and I still have it to show how loved it was, was KISS ME CREEP. I think you can tell from the title that they would have conflict. From there, I moved to romance whether it was historical or contemporary.

It all gave me an excuse to hide in my room, and I loved that.

If you could have any vice without repercussions, what would it be?

Tough question. I guess I would have to say Blue Bell Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. I love that stuff! It doesn't matter how cold it might be, that's always my reward when I finish a book and if I'm stressed and feel a need to indulge that's my go to treat. I do limit myself to one pint of it on those occasions.

If you could have been the servant to any famous person in history, who would that be and why?

Why couldn't I be the famous person with the servant? That way I wouldn't have to try to pick who I might want to serve. I'd be afraid they would turn out to be a jerk and my respect/fantasy would be ruined.

Do you have another book in the works? Would you like to tell readers about your current or future projects?

I always have another book in the works. The next ones to come will be the fifth Sensory Ops story and then another Whispering Cove installment.

I do have something completely new that I'm working on. It's in the infancy stages still, but I absolutely love it. All I will say is that I have never written anyone quite this wounded before. Well, maybe Jennalyn could compete. I still think this new character would win. It makes me giddy just thinking about it.

What do you do when the muse decides to take a holiday or become really difficult? How do you try to coax them back to the drawing board?

My muse is my bitch - she does what I say when I say and how I say. The trick is for me to get that precious time to boss her around. LOL

If the world was to end tomorrow, what three things would be on your bucket list?

Hot Air Balloon Ride, Bungee Jumping, Ride a Cutting Horse - though my mom made that last one happen a few years ago. Guess that means I have to come up with another one. Hmm... Get my black belt in Tae Kwon Do - I'm almost to red. Oh, go to Ireland. I really want to travel to Ireland one day.

How do you balance family life with your writing?

It's a fine line, but I just sort of make it happen. Often that means pulling some all nighters at the keyboard when everyone is asleep. It's equally as important that I be involved and active in the things the kids have going so writing takes the hit in the daylight hours and sleep takes the hit in the dark ones.

Dealing with writing deadlines can be a challenge. What do you do to cope with the stress?

Sadly I don't always handle the stress well. I get short tempered, fall behind on my emails and cleaning which aggravates the short temper and then I get really cranky. I am not a nice person at times. Luckily the family is used to this routine now and shrug it off as mom being on deadline. The new phrase in the house is Momster is Skeery, 'specially on deadline (spoken in a childish voice).

Thanks for coming. Is there anything else you want to add?

Thanks for having me. And since today is the kick off of the official cover reveal for the next book, how about I leave you with this?

The SERENADES Blurb:
Aimee Smith found a home and friends in Whispering Cove. During the Fall Festival she found no-strings fun in the arms of her favorite country singer. Then her fling left town—and she discovered how much of himself he left behind.

Josh Bryan loved life on the road—until one Whispering Cove waitress ruined it. Not that he’s complaining. Before her, there were willing women at every stop, but none stayed in his mind, under his skin, or left him wanting a second taste. Not like her.

Almost fourteen months later, with Christmas festivities in full swing, Aimee’s days at the bar are long and her nights walking the floor are longer. Yet she’s never been happier, at least until Josh walks into the bar in a swirl of snow.

The truth could send him running, have him accusing her of setting a trap…or be her one chance to prove she wants him for more than just his money and fame. That is, if he’s willing to take a chance there’s something between them deeper than passion.
