Being the son of the top Alpha wolf in his pack makes Cole the next in line to run the pack and when a new threat comes calling Cole’s parents ask the unimaginable of him.  A pact must be made with a neighboring pack. The two packs must join forces to fight this new threat but the only way to unite the packs is to have the offspring marry. Simple answer but one big problem stands in the way. Cole is gay and refuses to hide it. Yet he finds himself giving up his life for the good of the packs. When the other packs daughter runs off just before the marriage chaos erupts and to add to matters Cole finds himself attracted to her brother; a man who is not willing to live his life for the packs.  Paris has lived his life as an outsider from the packs, just as he wanted but when he becomes the object of an ugly obsession Paris finds that he longs for that connection especially with Cole.

This story pulls you in right from the start. I love Cole and did not know if I wanted him to give in and marry for the packs or to give it all up and follow his dreams. Just as Cole does I could see both sides and loved Cole more for his love and understanding of the pack. He goes through so much to find his happy ever after. His heart is broken and his faith in others is tested but Cole is not one to give up. Cole must make some hard choices including ones about Paris. Paris may find himself attracted to Cole but he is not ready to give up his life for the packs and loosing Cole may be the outcome. The two make a great couple and if they can withstand the problems and difficulties to stay together they make a good couple. Their love is strong and when they fight together nothing can stop them.

Tara lain does a wonderful job of combing action and romance throughout this story. I love that we not only get Cole and Paris’s story but we also get to see others from the pack especially Cole’s best friend Lindsey. I cannot wait to visit this wondrous world again.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
