Fireman Fred Breen is no hero; he was just doing his job when he rescues a bachelorette party from their crushed limo. With the media hounding him and calling him a ‘Bachelor Hero’, all Fred wants to do is disappear…except there was one woman in the bachelorette party that got his attention. She was a petite beauty who pretty much ran away from Fred the minute he brought her to safety. Until he finds out she is Rachel Kessler, the girl who was kidnapped when she was a child and now Fred wants to know more about her so when her overprotective father hires him to be her bodyguard, lets just say Fred is determined to make Rachel think of him not as a hero but as a man who will keep her safe and loved.

As this was the first book I read in this series and from this author, I had no problem picking up the basis of the series or the characters that populate the fire house of San Gabriel. Ms. Bernard delivers a wonderful story full of romance, mystery and just down right fun in THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN. I loved meeting Fred and Rachel and found t hem both to be wildly appealing characters. Both Fred and Rachel are strong, independent people who just click together. I loved how the sparks flew between them and this author does a great job in stoking those embers until they flew out of control. This book had all my favorite genres- mystery/suspense, romance, action and combined together, it was a pure delight to read.

Meet Fred and Rachel. Fred is a hunk but thinks he is just a normal everyday guy who loves his job as a firefighter. Intelligent, kind and more, Fred is not a hero; his brothers in the military are heroes according to him. Meeting Rachel leaves him gobsmacked and determined to find out all he can about the beauty who snared his heart. Rachel is a woman who has been protected since the moment she escaped from her kidnappers all those years ago. Feisty & determined, she is a woman who is strong, fun and sweet. I loved how this author gave the readers two characters we can really get behind. They were utterly charming and such a great couple as well as people that I fell in love with them both. The Villain is someone who I didn’t see coming and loved how this author revealed who it was. Sorry I won’t say more about this part of the book. You will have to read the book to find out what I mean.

THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN is a fun entertaining read that will draw you in and steal your heart. I can’t wait to see what other books are in this series because now I need to read those books after meeting some of the past book main characters in this final book of the series. With the right amount of suspense, action and romance, Ms. Bernard delivers a one-two punch wit her final book in the Bachelor Firemen of San Gabriel series. If you enjoy everyday people becoming heroes and the women who fall for them, then I recommend reading THE NIGHT BELONGS TO FIREMAN and settle in for a fun filled reading adventure.
