Geoff’s face is badly disfigured and he lives alone in the woods with a wolf he’s rescued. It’s a lonely life but he and Wolf are friends and it’s much better than being an object of pity or disgust in the town. His entire world is turned upside down when he finds and rescues a fairy with a damaged wing right at the start of winter.

Sean Michael has written a very large number of books. (I counted 266 on his website.) He’s noted for great storytelling and hot MM sex, so I settled down to read the book with much anticipation. The author delivered what I was looking for most competently with this story. Mauve, the fairy, is charming as he discovers a whole new world. Wolf is a strong character, and Geoff has a heart of solid gold, but has been badly hurt. Watching him grow is a delight.

The MM sex is varied, appropriate and hot with plenty of descriptive explanation and detail, as well as good use of fantasy body parts. The book’s premise is interesting and well executed. Two neat plot twists and a beautiful, somewhat unexpected and very fulfilling ending, round this story out.

There are a handful of apostrophes used for plurals that the proofreader should have corrected (and Mr. Michael should not make errors like this by now), and a couple of typos including “baldy trained” which gave me a good laugh.
Well worth reading as one would expect with an author of this caliber.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
