John visits AquaLand as a child on a school trip and is enthralled with the dolphins. From that time on dolphins are the focus of his life. Eventually he graduates with a degree in Marine Biology, but he’s been working at AquaLand ever since he was old enough and returns there to work. His special favorite dolphin is Trixie, and it’s through her that he meets someone unusual.

This is not a romance, although it is most definitely an MM story and there are some MM romantic elements. Instead, it’s an MM-oriented, contemporary-set, version of how Dionysus created dolphins. It’s very beautifully told, covering many years, from one man’s POV, yet adding in drama and tragedy as well as the hints of romance to the tale. It might not be what people are expecting from a GLBTQI erotic romance publisher, but it is a masterly and evocative retelling of a myth and a very fulfilling read. It’s also an exceptionally clean read. I noticed only one tiny error in the whole story.

T. Strange is definitely a talented author and I’ll be looking for more of her work in the future.

The story is well worth buying indeed.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
