For Charlotte ‘Charley’ Abbott, romance in the small town of
Butler, Vermont is hard, especially since she has already dated many of the
single guys in the town already…except for Tyler Westcott. The one man who
seems determined to drive her mad with his repeated attempts to ask her out on
a date among other things. It just annoys Charley to no end that he seems to
think he knows her better than she knows herself. But when he starts showing up
at her running club when she is there, well she grits her teeth and tries to
ignore him…that is until she gets hurt because he challenges her to a run on a
cold and snowy day. Now Tyler
is determined to help Charley get better as well as show her that the perfect
man she is looking for is right in front of her. That is if Charley will let
the walls around her heart down long enough to see the real Tyler.
I absolutely adore Ms. Force’s Green Mountain Series and
when I saw Charley was next in the series, well let’s just say I was pretty
intrigued. This is the character we have seen since the first book is prickly
and opinionated to everyone around her yet when Tyler starts showing in the last few books,
well we get to see the spark between these two, yet Charley is just down right
contrary. I love how this author delivers stories that just zing to your heart.
The story flows smoothly and quickly, there is a romance that brews amid
disaster that melted my heart and on top of it, we got a family that wants
everyone happy and settled. I love the Abbott family and Charley just stole my
heart as we get to know her a bit better in AIN’T
SHE SWEET.
Meet Charley Abbott. She is prickly, serial dater and
determined to not give Tyler Westcott the time of day. But what a difference an
injury makes that makes Charley spend time with him. I loved these two
together. The sparks fly fast and furious and the simmering sexual tension
between Charley and Tyler is molten hot. The scenes where Charley tries to deny
those said sparks are hilarious as she stumbles and tries to dodge well meaning
questions from her siblings and family. With Charley’s story we get to see how
one woman’s hardened heart slowly lowers its defenses and finds the love she
has searched for is right there in front of her if she can take that final leap
of faith. The characters are what make
this series so enjoyable and highly entertaining. Ms. Force created a cast of
characters that different and unique from one another set in a small town that
I fell in love with from the first book, All You Need is Love. That lush back
drop and some amazing secondary characters just blew me away and that right
there is what this author does best- she creates characters and stories with
heart and soul. Some of this series stories are rough and quite emotional,
others are fun, flirty and all the stories are delightful.
AIN’T SHE SWEET is a wonderful installment in a series that just keeps getting better and better with each book. I love finding out about the past Abbott couples that got paired up in the past books as well as meeting some new faces that I have a glimmer of hope may wind up in their own story in the future. I am really hoping Ms. Force doesn’t stop writing this series anytime soon. I need my Fred the Moose fix! With wonderful friends to lovers theme running through the story, Ms. Force delivers a story that steals your heart, captures your imagination and makes you long for your own Abbott sibling to fall in love with. I can’t wait to see who is next to fall in love in this delightful small town and hope you fall in love with this series as much as I have. Besides, who doesn’t want to live in a town where the town mascot is a Moose named Fred?
This is an objective review and not an endorsement.
