Ian Carney's life was just getting back on track but when his boyfriend Rico is called back to Mexico Ian learns a hard lesson. The love Ian thought they had was not as strong as it seemed. Yet during the painful time Ian finds solace in the good in his life. He soon finds himself in the spotlight at work and when his boss Braden Lord shows more than just work interest in Ian all bets are off. Although the two are well matched there are so many things going against them. Can their attraction turn into something or will the two let it disappear before it has even had a chance to start?

I loved Braden and Ian. The two make a great couple. Braden is just now coming to terms with being gay and fighting for his children. He truly likes Ian but is afraid to jeopardize everyone's lives. Ian may be young but he has grown up quickly and longs for love. Yet he has looked for it in all the wrong places. Ian must figure out if Braden could be his happy ever after and if he wants it? As Braden comes to terms with himself he must decide if Ian is worth the fight. Watching the two men figure out just where they stand made for a nice read. Love is not always far and Braden and Ian learn this lesson the hard way.

Tara Lain weaves a wonderful story in this book and I loved the way she included Ken and Jim in this story. Braden's children and Ian's cat are great additions to this story as well and at times steal the show. I am enjoying the way the author continues with the characters in this series and hope to see more from them.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
