When Gabe helps the strange man, who comes to the home improvement store where Gabe works, he never dreams how his life will change. Gabe decides to help a customer who needs help in renovating a recent home purchase. The customer: Jerry seems so lost and out of his depth that Gabe is willing to help him fix his new house. He sees it as a way to save up some extra money for his daughter’s college tuition but soon Gabe finds out that Jerry is not who he thinks he is. Will Jerry’s secret stop their budding relationship in its tracks before it even starts?

I enjoyed Jerry and Gabe’s story. It is fast paced and full of emotions. Both men are strong characters and together they make a great pair. Jerry is a good guy and is nothing like what he portrays to the world. Gabe is a trustworthy man who puts being a father first and foremost in his life. Together they work to figure out what they each truly want in life and if they are willing to fight for it. I loved the interaction of not only the main characters but also of the supporting characters. Ellie is a great kid and it was nice seeing the way she is with her dad and then with Jerry as they became a family. Both men must work out what they want and if it is worth fighting for. I enjoyed seeing Jerry come into his own and show the world who he really was and who he loved. Tara Lain weaves a wonderful story with this book that shows just how strong love can be and you never know where love will find you.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
