Carolyn Turner, Viscountess Wingate comes out of mourning after three years, when her sister persuades her that it is time that she should join the real life again instead of wallowing in her memories.

Daniel Sutton, Earl of Surbroke has been smitten with Carolyn for more than a decade but she was the wife of his friend, Edward, but finally he sees his chance.

Inspired by the book “Memoirs of a Mistress” Carolyn succumbs to Daniel’s seduction and begins an affair with him. Soon the situation between them is getting more and more serious, but it takes a threat to Carolyn to make Daniel realize that he is head over heels in love with her.

CONFESSIONS AT MIDNIGHT is the enjoyable second book of Ms. D’Alessandro’s Mayhem in Mayfair series. Although the book can be read as a stand-alone, this reviewer recommends reading SLEEPLESS AT MIDNIGHT prior to reading this book, so that you get the whole background information about the Ladies Literary Society.

Ms. D’Alessandro really turned up the heat with this novel, because the sexual tension between Daniel and Carolyn is nearly tangible. It was a kind of falling in love at first sight experience for Daniel, when he met Carolyn for the first time ten years ago, and it’s quite romantic that he still has this feeling after all those years. Carolyn was just discovering life again after all these years of mourning and is quite surprised about her reaction to her “friend” Daniel.

This reviewer has never been disappointed by one of Ms. D’Allesandro’s books and CONFESSIONS AT MIDNIGHT is no exception, the book takes its reader on a funny and emotional roller-coaster ride.

You definitely don’t want to miss this sensual Regency story, so hurry get your copy today.
