Madelyn Haywood is not interested in being considered for the role of wife to the younger brother of a Duke. Gabriel Devine, the seventh Duke of Wolverest, is inviting the cream of the eligible ladies for his brother’s consideration. He wants his brother to marry and continue the family line as he has no interest in marriage. Madelyn piques his interest as she tries to get away however; she is unable to refuse the invitation when it is extended.

Madelyn is a young woman who is steadfast in her beliefs. She is intelligent, honest and sincere. They are all qualities that Gabriel finds interesting and admirable. Gabriel is also a man who holds strong beliefs. He finds himself challenged and aroused by Madelyn as she is not like the rest of the young women invited for his brother’s perusal. It is easy to see the attraction between them. They have great chemistry together as they are put in situations that are at times, quite humorous. Their relationship starts off with a bang and the author slowly builds it up. It was very nice to see when they finally realize how essential they are to each other.

AT THE BRIDE HUNT BALL gives us an interesting premise for a romance. There is a lot to enjoy from the lead characters to the supporting and minor characters. Ultimately it is a love story that focuses on two people who are perfect for one another. Getting them to realize it is essentially what the book focuses on. The reader knows from the opening pages that Madelyn and Gabriel are meant to be together. The author takes us on a ride as we follow their journey to discovering what they feel for each other.
