Sometimes being a vampire just about sucks!

Francesca Marinelli loves her new life in the 21st century after being trapped underground for more than two hundred years. Francesca has to deal with many changes including dating in the 21st century because face it, what my momma told me back in 1766 does not work now! Plus She has a cool new job taking people on tours of haunted places, finding out that Wal Mart is a great place regardless what other say and bemoaning my lack of a love life. Well that is until someone gets bumped off from one of my tours, stalkers are coming out of the woodwork and a crazed vigilante squad is going to come get me, maybe being trapped for over two hundred years wasn’t so bad!

LA VIDA VAMPIRE is a wonderful debut novel from author Nancy Haddock. Told in first person, Ms. Haddock draws the reader into Francesca’s world with ease and you get the sense of who this character is within minutes of starting the book. She literally hooks you from the first page and delivers characters so vivid they literally step off the pages and into your heart. Tight writing, fast pace and well rounded characters deliver a story that will keep you highly entertained and longing for more once the last page is read.

Meet Francesca, a vampire who was trapped for over two hundred years underground and ends up in the 21st century a minor celebrity. Getting a job, trying to adjust to the new world around her, she comes off fearless, independent and trying to live a half way normal life as a vampire without all the complications it brings being one. She definitely keeps the readers attention and you get a sense of who this character is as she grows amid the pages. Add in a hunky detective, fearsome friends and a mystery that lurks just under the surface, you get the making of a wonderful edge of the seat story that captivates you till the end.

LA VIDA VAMPIRE is definitely one of those books you will want to re-read and Ms. Haddock delivers an intriguing story that is rich in multifaceted characters, hooks you from the beginning and is definitely one quirky and fun ride for the reader! This reviewer is eager to know more of Francesca as she navigates the 21st century and finds herself thrust right in the world of dating, mysteries and maybe some hot sexy fun! Run to grab this exquisite fun story and meet a vampire that will make you want to hang ten with her on the beach!
