Rebecca Colfax has found herself down and out for the count when her seemingly perfect marriage finds her alone, penniless and forced to do the unthinkable: become a hurdy-gurdy girl! Now trying to get her son back, Rebecca keeps her secrets until a faro dealer there ends up changing how she thinks. That is until he finds out her deepest secrets and learns what really haunts her. Can Rebecca trust Slater Forrester with everything that is in her or will she lose the one man worth his weight in gold?
A REASON TO SIN a delightfully fast paced, tightly written story from author Maureen McKade that tells a tale of one woman’s journey from having it all (or so she thinks) to finding out she lost everything. Meet Rebecca Colfax, a woman seemingly having it all: perfect marriage, charming husband, cute son until her husband loses everything and disappears. Knocked down, Rebecca is forced to make a choice which has her doing things that go against everything she believes in and in the end, is for the right reasons. Strong, vulnerable and independent, Rebecca delves into a world she used to shun, finding out that she is strong enough to survive and then finds that love is staring her right in the face. Enter in Slater Forrester, a faro dealer and ex-spy who makes Rebecca weak in the knees and just as fearful in the way he makes her feel. He is sexy to boot and made this reviewer want to take up Faro just to get him to deal me in.
A REASON TO SIN is a delightful read that will keep you guessing and make you wish you had your own faro dealer to deal you in. Want to take a walk on the wild side and sin a little? Then grab A REASON TO SIN and get lost in a world where saloons, hurdy-gurdy girls and sexy spy’s are the norm! This was a great afternoon read that will keep you highly entertained!
