Lauryn Applegate Harris, a widow, is prepared to do anything to get back the deed to her father-in-law’s estate. It was lost during one of his drunken gambling spells. Lauryn has heard that the Earl is in need of a new mistress and she decides she will apply for the position. Marcus, Earl of Sutton is now the owner of the estate and he is highly amused by Lauryn’s offer. He decides to take her on for two weeks and they move to his country estate to continue their relationship.

Lauryn is a wonderful heroine. Her offer to become Marcus’ mistress wasn’t just to get back the deed but a chance to have sex again. Lauryn finds herself missing it since the death of her husband. Marcus is a rake and has had lots of women in the past. However, as the story progresses, he is essentially an honorable man. It was great fun to watch Lauryn and Marcus together. Their characters are well-developed and readers can understand where they are coming from. They have a nice sexual chemistry together and readers will enjoy it when they appear on the pages together. There is a mystery subplot but my focus was on how the lead couple progressed in their relationship.

ENTICING THE EARL is a lovely historical romance that is never boring. It is fast paced story that will take readers on a ride. Readers will fall in love with Lauryn and Marcus. ENTICING THE EARL has all the elements that romance readers could want including an extremely entertaining lead couple and some nice erotic action too!
