A cursed god………a past that haunts one man…….love not to be denied

Acheron's is the story everyone has been waiting for, the one dark hunter with powers so mysterious, a past so secretive, that everyone wonders who and what he is. This is his story, a story that will find the balance of the world tipping from one end of the spectrum to another and in the dead center: Acheron, a man who has to choose to trust in love again or forever be lost to the world.

This reviewer loves this series so much that I had to re-read the entire series before I read ACHERON to reacquaint myself with all the significant players. Ms. Kenyon has created a world that defies explanation. The characters are beloved and everyone has their favorite hunter and book yet ACHERON has been involved in each and every book somehow, mysterious and secretive. I don’t want to spoil the book for those who haven’t read it but be warned some of ACHERON may be too hard to take. Ms. Kenyon delivers a powerful story that will keep you up at night, answering questions yet many more questions are being asked as the last page is read.

There are two parts to this book. Part one is the past of Acheron and what events shaped him to the man he is in the present. You get an eagle eye view of a world where brutality was the norm, where men ruled, gods and goddesses didn’t care as long as they got what they wanted. It is a tough world and ACHERON is thrust center stage into it all: unwanted, unloved except for a few people who dared and trusts no one after his soul is shattered time and time again. The reader gets to the heart of a beloved character and Ms. Kenyon strips him bare for us. The past collides together and this time you see the soul that was shattered by fear, misplaced trust and shattered love. You get to see what shaped Acheron to the man he is in the Present and this is an author who makes you weep for the injustices he felt.

The author then leads us to Part two; the present and the one woman who will either be his salvation or his destruction. Each page is so descriptive that it felt like you were walking hand in hand with ACHERON as he fought his inner demons and past memories. The reader learned about what and who Acheron was yet you also get a sense that this was pieces on a chess board. Ms. Kenyon delivers a high energy packed punch with ACHERON and she doesn’t disappoint at all. This is an author where you feel the love she has for her characters in each and every book; scrapping along the edges with multiple story lines and key players and the reader gets a sense that with the answers given in ACHERON, many more questions are poised to be asked.

All I can say for ACHERON is that each page is like a moving picture with scenes of the past and present playing out in your mind. The reader gets a sense of the depths Acheron will go to believe in love again, to save the world and the lengths some will go for utter dominance. Beloved characters return, new ones are introduced and still the question begs to be answered: What is going to be next for the Dark Hunters? Ms. Kenyon admits that this is just the beginning of change coming for the series and that she isn’t done with it. All this reviewer wants to know is what happens next and when will the next part of the series begin? Get ready for a war that will have the dark hunters’ dead center and woe to those who are caught in the crossfire!
