Medardo de Vale is the Tarot prince. He has immortal life and is allowed to visit the characters of his Tarot cards. But he is far from happy. Doomed to travel the world alone, loveless and hopeless he often yearns for the sweet arms of death. But the Queen he loves is concerned for her Prince and sends him a way of salvation. Annalise is a simple girl, but for years she has heard the soft songs float over the Devon Moors. Then a Queen appears and tells her a fantastic story of a man who needs her love. He is in despair and Annalise realizes that she is his chosen. Now she has to find him and persuade the powerful Venetian that there is a very serious danger and evil is drawing near. Her contact with him awakes powerful memories of a past life, a life that is entwined with the Soothsayer.

Ellen Ashe is, in my opinion, one of the top, dark, paranormal writers. Her descriptive prose is marvelous and she enthralls her readers with a dark, compelling story that certainly captivated me. This is just the kind of story that I love to read. Ellen Ashe writes characters that leap from the page. Her villains are truly villainous, her hero tortured. Her heroine is innocent but strong. The characters in THE TAROT PRINCE will stay with me for a long time. The premise is unique too. The world of the Tarot is opened up and the characters of the cards come alive. There is also the elixir of life that the villains are after. Ellen Ashe, in her wonderful way, gives her readers a story that thrills and chills. It is highly sensual and provocative too. Yep, I’m in love with Ellen Ashe’s books and you will be too if you just start reading them.
