Diana Winslow is at Castle Bannaster with a specific purpose. She is the first female member of the League of the Blade and her first assignment involves the master of the castle. The current Viscount Bannaster is famous for abusing his servants. Diana is undercover as a serving maid but finds herself at the hands of the Viscount. Diana is forced to commit murder to save herself but there is a witness, Thomas. He is the younger brother of the Viscount. Afraid that he will recognize her, Diana kidnaps him as he was to court her sister.
Diana is a feisty and very impulsive woman. She has to be brave to belong to the League of the Blade but it is her impulsiveness that has put her in very bad situations. Diana realizes after she had kidnapped Thomas that it was not a good idea but by then it is too late. Thomas is a more appealing character. He has had to fight off rumors that he killed his brother for the title. Thomas is a wonderful hero. He exudes warmth, understanding and is a perfect complement to Diana. The love story as well as the characters is nicely developed.
SECRETS OF THE KNIGHT is the third book in the trilogy. Not having read the earlier ones, I was fascinated with the historical aspects contained within. The reader is transported back in time and you feel like you are back in medieval era. For those who enjoy their romances set in the 15th century, this series is right up your alley.
