Zia is about to be burned as a witch. Her only fault is being good at her job as a healer. Artair Sinclaire is searching for his brother and comes upon Zia. He rescues her as she has information he needs. They find themselves attracted to one another. Artair offers her the protection of his name if they marry but Zia is holding out for real love and passion.
UNDER THE HIGHLANDER’S SPELL is the newest installment in the Sinclaire brothers’ story. Ms. Fletcher gives us the story of Zia and Artair. Zia is a selfless heroine with lots of spunk. She is trained to be a healer and comes from a family where the first daughter is always a healer. Artair is searching for his brother, Ronan when he comes upon Zia. Artair is a very nice man. He is an honest, personable and reliable man. Zia and Artair’s relationship slowly builds as Zia is not keen on permanently attaching herself to Artair. However she does feel the erotic tingle and is not immune to the desire she feels. The reader can sense the chemistry between these two from the first meeting and it only increases as time passes. At times, it did get a little old with Zia turning Artair down but he is a man who doesn’t take “no”. Of all the secondary characters, Honora and Cavan are featured quite prominently as they expect their first child. Their story was told in Return of the Rogue.
UNDER THE HIGHLANDER’S SPELL is the second book in this trilogy. It is a solid historical romance with just enough eroticism to give it some sizzle. For those who enjoyed Return of the Rogue, you definitely need to purchase this one!
