Isabella Jordan has written a sexy little story that is entertaining and fun. If you have been following this series, you will know that the Botans are a race of shape-shifting trees that have come to earth to find a new home. They desperately need to mate with humans when they mature so each story in this series is how they find and persuade their mates to accept them as they are.

Vanessa Arnault, a spoilt rich girl has been given an ultimatum by her father. Get this piece of land that he owns into a working, profitable business or her credit cards will be taken away. So, now she’s out in the boonies, looking at the trees and wondering what she can do with it all. Botans Charles and Christopher have made Cana their home and enjoy the small population. Half are farmers, musicians and craftsmen, the other half are free spirits, nudists and nature lovers, that abhor the use of wood and plants. When Vanessa comes to inspect her father’s land they recognise her at once as the woman who they could mate with. Trouble is, she has decided to create special homes for the pets of the rich and wants to cut them
down and turn the land into her first exclusive puppy palaces and kitty abodes. Will they be turned into miniature Taj Mahal’s or can they persuade her to make better use of the land.

I had a hard time warming up to Vanessa. She’s superficial, a typical rich girl. And although one of the Botans accepts her at once, the other one shows his reserve. I think that if this story would have been a tad longer, the characters could have been better explored and their changes more realistic. As it is, I felt the story was a bit rushed. This didn’t, however, stop me from enjoying the story and I know that Isabella Jordan is a good author and has written some excellent books.
