One evening, Scarlet finds herself in what she thinks is a shop. The keeper is a strange man she cannot read. She has gained some fame in giving advice to people about their past, present and futures. He shows her his dolls. She feels he has an unusual attraction to them, but she is so captivated with this man’s sensual charm and his promise of immortality she surrenders herself to him. The locals, with their rumours of a bordello that will not burn and its owner who will not die, cannot dissuade her from giving herself to Nicolai Von Adler and becoming his Mistress. He has thoroughly seduced her. But there is someone who wants to destroy the bordello, the dolls and its owner. Can Scarlet’s devotion to the Vampire and her powers save them?

One thing you can expect from a story by Ellen Ashe, and that is a very dark, haunting story with lots of descriptive prose that draws you in and has you captivated, experiencing everything along with the heroine. This extremely talented author has a knack of writing a story that wraps around you, chills and thrills you and gives you an ending that will surprise you. Ms. Ashe infuses emotions and feelings into her story and doesn’t hold back on the darkness, and the decadence. This great author writes great characters. Scarlet is mysterious and Nicolai is just dark and dangerous. What can I say? As a lover of dark, paranormal stories, I really savoured this one and will be re-reading it for sure. I would love to see lots more from this author.

Then check out http://www.absolute-x-press.com where she has "Love Not Forgotten"

Kirkland Hall is haunted. Kate Daniels, part inheritor to the estate, knows nothing of its history- that a bloody scene four hundred years ago between rival clans saw two lovers separated by murder- and that these tortured spirits had spent the centuries searching for each other. Nor does she know anything about the dark and moody ‘caretaker’, Alex MacTavish. The trip to Scotland was meant to be a holiday before selling her share of the estate back to its rightful owner.

No sooner had Kate arrived however, when she felt as though the house was not only whispering its welcome, but pleading for her help. A phantom horseman rides the moors, a ghostly fire sweeps through the corridor, a woman’s desperate screams- echoes of a brutal past- reaching through the mists of time. And as her relationship with Alex begins to deepen, Kate discovers that fate has had a hand in bringing them together- the name Daniels is interlinked with the violent history of betrayal and murder. So too, is the name MacTavish.

She also has 3 more coming out soon there... so keep watch
