Heather Winstrobe has come with an important message and the message is for Gene DuBois. Although he is fascinated by her, he is cynical and doesn’t trust people easily. She needs to go very slow with him and eventually they end up in bed. Still, Heather is very determined to get her job done and leave. Gene is not really looking for a one night stand. However, when she does leave, he finds out that she isn’t really Heather Winstrobe. Who was this woman? What did she really want, his money? And what about that strange message she had for him. Gene finds out that ghosts really do exist and family secrets can catch up with you and almost kill you. He not only has to fear for his life but he’s desperate to find the woman who he has fallen in love with. Can he stay alive long enough?

This is an absolutely fascinating story that will grab you and not let you go. It is a pick-up-and-not-put-down book. I must warn you to allow yourself a lot of time for this book, because you will be immersed and will want to know what happens next. This is a romance with a lot of suspense and mystery in it. Although the heroine leaves the hero not long after they meet, the suspense is wound up so tight, that when she finally appears again the reader is not at all frustrated that she wasn’t there for so long. This is also a story full of emotions that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There are characters you will hate, characters you will love and characters that you will just shake your head at. Another warning; the last few lines of this book made me cry like a baby!! A great read!
