In Kate Hoffman’s Only in Spirit, you meet Bianca Saint-Antoine, a woman who was rescued by a mysterious man from an attack one dark night. She finds herself falling in love with her mysterious man only to find out a secret that has her having to make a choice: a life with him or to be apart forever.
This was a very good kick off to this three author anthology. I totally enjoyed the way Bianca found herself falling for the man first then finding out his secret second. It made it very delightful and I enjoyed Ms. Hofman’s writing style. A satisfying read for those who enjoy ghosts, a timeless love and passion in abundance.
New author Bill Haworth delves into lost love, a mysterious castle and curses in Castle on the Moor. This delves into a tormented spirit, a curse to be denied and good fighting evil. An American couple is contracted to turn a dusty castle into its former glory, only to find it in really good condition upon arriving and meeting its old-fashioned caretaker. As the story unfolds, the reader is drawn into a world where good triumphs over evil and tired spirits must find a way, with human help, to beat the curse that binds them before they are able to pass onto their just reward.
Mr. Haworth is a new author for this reviewer and I found his writing style very enjoyable. I found the story well written with enjoyable characters and very descriptive. You get a sense of the story descriptions with his vivid adjectives that stir the senses and the imagination. I am delighted to add this author to my to be read list.
Finally, Gwyn Lacy delves into a timeless love that will transport the reader in Valentino’s Ghost. Meet Camilla, a woman who is having a love affair with an otherworldly man who steals her senses with just a touch. Can Camilla break away from the pain of her life to embrace a life with her love or exist apart in the otherworld?
In Ms. Lacy’s story, you get a timeless love that transcends the spirits and a woman who has to have the courage to take a chance on a love that will be hers forever if she only believes. Tight writing, fast pace and captivating characters help make Valentino’s Ghost a satisfying read.
ONLY IN SPIRIT is a great anthology full of wonderful characters, tight writing and a love that transcends the heavens.
