Eva Kennedy has been working at her uncle’s Dublin delicatessen for seven years. Her aspirations to become someone, to study art have all but disappeared. She’s in a rut and her latest relationship has ended. Needing to have a change, she heads off to Melbourne to visit an old friend. Well, things get shaken up alright! Her friend, for a joke, gives Eva an exciting new identity and everyone believes she is a famous Irish artist. Joseph is in Australia for a conference. He is a designer who is very successful, but his designing has gone by the wayside as he is too busy with the business of the company. His love life is zero. They both meet, and even though Eva is pretending she is someone she’s not, Joseph also has a few of his own secrets. What looks like to be a holiday fling turns into something more serious, Eva and Joseph need to come clean with each other. But things are all topsy turvy!

This was a very pleasant, fun, entertaining read that gave me something different to read than my usual fare. Ms McInerney writes with charm and with her tongue firmly in her cheek. I had to laugh out loud quite a few times. This clever author takes us from Dublin, Ireland, across the ocean to Melbourne, Australia and you really feel as if you are in both places. Ms McInerney writes characters that the reader can relate to. Both Eva and Joseph are normal people with their problems, dreams and aspirations, and like many of us, are stuck in a rut. Ms. McInerney sure puts them through their paces as life throws them one curve ball after another and the road to true love is rocky, but fun! The romance is cute, sensual and satisfying. I know lovers of a romping, good fun read will certainly enjoy this story. It’s refreshing and will certainly bring an ‘aaaahh’ from your lips. I must check out her other books
