Independent and vulnerable at the same time, Elizabeth is a”kick butt-take no prisoners’” character that really grows on you as you find yourself drawn to this spunky heroine. Add in a former lover who knows every button you have and is determined to push it, a few secondary characters that give Elizabeth a run for her money and a really bad evil stalking her, so that the reader gets a sense of how fast Elizabeth is going to have to get up to speed because seriously, all this doomsday stuff is just not going to die down. Add in a climatic ending that will have you screaming “OH MY GOD!” and you got the makings of a series that will knock you on your butt.
Intriguing and gripping, ANY GIVEN DOOMSDAY kept me enchanted from start to finish and I am anxiously awaiting the next chapter in Elizabeth’s adventures. Will she find the truth to Jimmy’s secret? Will she even survive? Ms. Handeland delivers a thriller of a ride as you find yourself entwined in the adventures that have Elizabeth going what the heck is next? I know I am waiting for the next adventure coming this spring. Are you?
