You’ve met Aldwin Treynarde in A Knight’s Vengence and now he get’s his own story told as he tries to make amends to the lord he tried to kill, Lord Geoffrey de Lanceau. Told to go after a stolen ruby pendant, Aldwin hopes he can redeem himself in the eyes of his lord and his parents, who told him to never return because their shame at his near murder of Geoffrey. Now with the Baron back into play, Aldwin is determined to carry out and succeed in his mission……..just one catch: The lovely and desperate Lady Leona Ransley. She is desperate to find the pendant, claim the reward and then disappear. She never encountered a man such as Aldwin and soon sparks fly, misunderstandings are revealed and both have to find a way to get what they want. A past transgression in their youth has opened up a can of worms between Leona and Aldwin and if they want to succeed in getting the pendant and stopping the Baron, then they have to work together and surrender to the passion that binds them at their hearts.
Ms. Kean is this reviewer’s favorite historical romance author because she brings such breathtaking characters to life with imaginative stories and sizzling passion that steams up the nights. Her latest romp, A KNIGHT’S TEMPTATION, tells the tale of Aldwin Treynard, a man you’ve met in A Knight’s Vengeance when he tried to kill Geoffrey after being manipulated by the Baron. Now with a chance to redeem himself, he meets his match in Lady Leona Ransley, a woman from his past that he thought was gone from a childhood mishap. These two are the most wonderful characters I have ever enjoyed lately. Full of spice and independence, Leona definitely gives as well as she gets against Aldwin. She is a delightful character that gave me a few good chuckles and sighs as I read A KNIGHT’S TEMPTATION. Aldwin is a man hoping for some form of redemption, be it in his mission or in the eyes of his parents. He is filled with a fury that he was manipulated by the Baron and vows to make the man pay. Complex and full of seething emotions, this is a character that has you hoping that he gets his chance to make good on his promises and redeems himself in the eyes of those he loves.
A KNIGHT’S TEMPTATION is a delightful story full of action, adventure and romance. I found Ms. Kean’s latest book to be captivating and definitely delivers many twists and turns that will keep you enthralled right up to the very end. I highly recommend this as well as Ms. Kean’s other books if you enjoy historical romances that teases the senses and steals your heart with captivating characters and fast paced storyline. Ms. Kean’s writing just keeps getting better with each book as she delves into a world gone by and delivers a fresh take on times long gone. As always, I look forward to this prolific author’s next book. This is definitely one author on my auto-buy list.
