After getting injured in the line of duty, Luke Rafferty was ready to go onto the next step in his life. He hadn’t found what he was looking for in the military. Now a doctor working the ER, he thinks that he might have found it. But Devon Manning is so skittish that he is afraid that she will run.

Once an addict and now a social worker, Devon likes her life to be without complications. But Luke just might be one complication that she needs. Just as their relationship is developing however someone starts to stalk her. Can their relationship and she survive this deadly complication?

I am not known for handing out ratings of 5 hearts but FRAGILE by Shiloh Walker has to be the best romantic suspense that I have had the pleasure of reading in the last few years. There are so many twists and turns that it is impossible to decide just who the true villain is until the end. And even then you are surprised.

I think that Ms. Walker’s true gift is her ability to foreshadow just enough to confuse her readers until we don’t know which way is up. All of her characters have their dark sides which just confuse the matter even more. Oh and all of her characters have hidden depths. Makes it hard to know just who to cheer for.

Luke is a hero that I would love to have in my life. He is a true warrior who is extremely protective of his lady. Devon has rebuilt her life after a very hard start. She is scared to allow Luke to mean too much to her but she can’t seem to help herself. The secondary characters are an interesting mix that adds depth to the story. Luke’s twin brother, Quinn, is one that I am really hoping to see more of.

If you like romantic suspense, then don’t miss this true gem of this genre. Rush out today and pick up your own copy of FRAGILE.
