Mia loves her boyfriend, Aiden. He was her first lover and her first relationship and she loves him, right? Her wild best friend, Jamie, isn’t so sure that’s true. Jamie and Mia have been best friends since they first met as girls, so Jamie can’t believe that Mia is happy having never experienced another lover, other than handsome, aggressive Aiden, while Mia doesn’t understand why Jaime cannot commit to Caleb, Jamie’s sexually adventurous lover, who is laid back and ready for anything Jamie dishes his way.

Mia has her doubts about her feelings towards Aiden and her best friend Jamie would do anything to help Mia figure it out, even swap lovers for a wild, adventurous weekend.

SWAP is a powerful combination of hot, lurid sexual dynamite and simple earnest storyline. It is not particularly long, but I couldn’t put it down!
The characters fall a little short in that they are somewhat bound to specific traits, but they are characters that are easy to relate to. I have certainly questioned my feelings about people in my world and fought against expectations placed upon me. So do the men and women of this book.
The authoress assumes that vanilla sex is not the norm, and thus treats Mia as innocent in a lot of ways in regards to sex, while Jamie is a wild sexual adventurer. Aiden is a dominating, sexually experienced male, who is first cast in a not-so-positive light, but over the span of the book you come to appreciate him more. Caleb is kept somewhat mysterious throughout the book. Oh, he’s easily defined as sweet and thoughtful and pleasing, but I would really have liked to see his character and back-story developed a wee bit more, because the bits that were given were just enough to make me want to learn more. A real difference about this story is that there are four main characters. That’s quite a juggling act, and Jenesi Ash did a great job of keeping the information relevant and the action going.
The story is grounded in the reality of some, if not all, and it pleasingly dances through sexual taboos with no remorse, which was a real turn-on. Sometimes the dialogue is a little forced between the characters, in between bouts of sexual explosion there is a lot of introversion for Mia, but there’s no real communication between Mia and Jamie other than plotting and allusion that they had a great conversation, and the same with Aiden and Caleb.
The storyline is short, and sweet. I must confess that I picked up the book expecting to hate the outcome, so imagine my shock when I found myself smiling when I closed the back cover! The characters don’t just have a sex-capade, but create real relationships with each other. You’ll have to read it to see what the relationships become!
