This book contains three stories set in and around The Red Door, an exclusive brothel in London. In Wickedly Ever After, Miss Eleanor Palmer tells the Marquess of Grenville in no uncertain terms that he’s hardly husband material and she would never marry him. True, he is a bit of a cad, but there is more to him than meets the eye. And when he kisses her, her traitorous body yells ‘yes’!!
In Scandously Ever After, Calliope, a whore at The Red Room, is surprised when Captain Jack Prescott hires her for an entire week and then falls asleep on their first night. Then when they succumb to carnal pleasures, Jack proposes to her. But how can a whore marry into society?
In Sinfully Ever After, Lady Jane St. Clair is in love with a notorious rake. When he proposes she accepts, but in order to find out how to pleasure a man, she visits The Red Room for instruction. When she discovers Gerard, her betrothed there, she decides to take matters into her own hands.
These hot, romantic, erotic stories by newcomer, Jackie Barbosa are highly entertaining and deliciously decadent. The characters in these stories are all connected and are very well crafted. Each of the heroes are delickable and the heroines are well-matched. The erotic elements are very arousing, highly sensual and rich in romance. Each character has their own agenda, and motivated differently. The sex scenes contribute to each characters growth.
This reviewer knows that you will need to have some ice water nearby, or your partner while reading. Ms. Barbosa knows how to turn up the heat way high. I also enjoyed the historical elements, it seems that this clever author knows her history, although I am not a history buff myself. I think my favorite story was Scandously Ever After, as I loved the tortured hero and Calliope is a heroine you can root for. I can highly recommend this book if you love historicals with leap-off-the-page characters, a good plot and a good amount of heat. I do hope we’ll see more stories from this author, because she is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
