Raine Benares is having one rough month. First she finds the fabled and evil soul sucking rock called the Saghred, then becomes bonded to it against her will and now everyone under the sun wants that rock and Raine, it doesn’t seem to matter what she wants. Now after helping foil elven assassins, this week its demons of all sizes and colors. Raine is ready to head for the hills if she wasn’t caught between two very different yet delectable men alive. Now with the help of her friends, family and her two unforeseen magically bonded men, Mychael (light mage) and Tam (dark mage), can Raine make it through this week without getting caught by her enemies who are growing in numbers or will she have to choose: saving the island of Mid from a demon infestation or giving into the demands of the Demon Queen?
THE TROUBLE WITH DEMONS picks up right where Armed & Magical left off. A week has passed and poor Raine is up to her ears in enemies- new and old. They are now crawling out of the toilet, woodwork and shadows as a hell gate is opened up right on the island of Mid and now demons are popping up looking for the Saghred and Raine plus something that will let the souls loose inside that deadly rock. Raine has limited time to get whatever she has to seek in order to keep the world as she knows it the same or demons will be the least of her problems.
I have got to say, Author Lisa Shearin delivers an action packed ride from start to finish and the reader is definitely not disappointed in the third installment. Fast paced storyline, intriguing and multi-dimensional characters and a plot that keeps twisting so you are going “OH…MY…GOD!” from all the twists and turns she gives you. I love the fact Raine uses her brain before using magic to solve any problem and man does she have some doozies. I love how Ms. Shearin keeps the characters interesting and delivers some new ones to keep the reader entertained.
THE TROUBLE WITH DEMONS is an action packed ride that will keep you highly entertained and with this author, you won’t stop until the last page is read and you are left running to the internet to see when the next installment of Raine’s adventures is coming next (soon I hope!). This has everything for a reader who enjoys magic, mystery, love triangles, and adventure all rolled into one awesome package. I highly recommend Ms. Shearin’s Raine Benares series to anyone who enjoys a really good story that will keep you glued to the pages and clamoring for more. I am really looking forward to the next Raine book and hope it isn’t too long of a wait.
