CLICK TO PURCHASE! Jianne Carlo’s WHITE WOLF combines intrigue, romance, mystery and fantasy together into a tale that is sure to please.
When Sorcha McFadden inherits her grandmother’s cottage in the town she grew up in, until the unexpected death of her parents when she was yet a teenager, she returns with lots of questions and very few answers. The first person she runs into upon her return is town sheriff and teenage crush Gray White who fails to recognize her when he finds her skinny-dipping at a local lake.
Sheriff White never expected to find his mate when he responded to a possible breaking and entering. Even more shocking is realizing that mate is the skinny little girl his sister had befriended so many years ago. He hasn’t seen Sorcha in years and fails to recognize her as anything other than mate when she glides out of the lake dripping wet, naked. His wolf half reacts immediately, claiming Sorcha. And that is when the trouble begins.
Jianne Carlo’s WHITE WOLF was a completely unexpected paranormal treat for this reader. The heat factor is scorching from the first page, but this was not the surprise. That came in the unusual way this author has penned this paranormal branch of wolves. Unlike other shifter books, these wolves are human in form and unable to shift to their wolf form yet still exhibit the inherent animal behaviors of their wolf halves. If this was just a wolf shifter romance, it still would have been a good book. But it isn’t. This book is far more. Sorcha has come back to town to face her childhood trauma and find some answers. Finding those answers is a challenge not only for Sorcha, but for Gray White the man and Gray White the wolf, especially since those answers appear to be tied to a group of black wolves that Gray’s grandfather supposedly eliminated years ago, a group that appears to have resurfaced and targeted Sorcha.
Ms. Carlo leaves subtle clues to the story’s mysteries throughout the book, but it isn’t until the very end that they all come together. WHITE WOLF is action packed, mysterious, and erotic. WHITE WOLF is this reader’s first glimpse into Jianne Carlo’s interesting writing style, but it will not be the last. Ms. Carlo offers something for everyone. This reader can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
