CLICK TO PURCHASE! Dee Carney’s ILLICIT HUNGER is a short story of forbidden love set in a world where vampires rule and werewolves are considered a lesser, tainted species.

Werewolf Jericho Taylor is charged with protecting vampire prima lux and heir to the throne, Lia Hampton. With her arranged and very unwanted marriage only days away, she heads out for one last night of clubbing. When an attempt is made on her life, she is forced to feed from Jericho in order to save her life. Unfortunately, no one can know that she drank werewolf blood, as it is forbidden among their species. That one bite sparks a desperate ILLICIT HUNGER that threatens to tear apart their whole world.

ILLICIT HUNGER is a short story at just over sixty pages, but has an intriguing storyline, interesting characters and enough steamy sex to keep readers interested.

On the negative side, the explanation for why werewolves are considered tainted and lesser seemed somewhat anticlimactic after so much of the story surrounded that point.

Still, the story was fast paced and the danger of the affair in face of the vampire law against werewolf/vampire interaction left readers wondering how on earth these two characters were ever going to end up with a happy ending. Readers looking for a little bit of danger and intrigue with their paranormal loving are sure to enjoy this steamy story of ILLICIT HUNGER.
