CLICK TO PURCHASE! Sarah McInnes is getting really tired of the whole starving student thing and she is hoping that soon she can move out of her crappy one bedroom apartment and find a half way decent job. Well that was until three months before, she finds destiny has other plans for her and they include hunky Dorian, a man who is as mysterious as he is insufferable. Sarah finds herself with powers she didn’t want, a social life that is non-existent and she is getting tired of giving excuses to her professors on why she never makes it to class. Some days life just sucks.
THE TROUBLE WITH DESTINY is the first of this author’s books I have read and I found it well written, very engrossing and very entertaining. I enjoyed the way Sarah reacted to her newfound powers and the fact she now had her life turned upside down within a blink of an eye. This is an author who really keeps the reader enthralled with multi-dimensional characters that literally step off the page and a fast paced storyline that leaves you on the edge of your seat, eager for more. I started THE TROUBLE WITH DESTINY in the evening and had to finish it in the wee hours of the morning. I just had to know what happens next with Sarah, Dorian and the whole destiny thing.
Meet Sarah McInnes, a college student who after being rescued several months before, finds she has the power to send daemens back to hell. She doesn’t want this power but when mysterious and sexy Dorian is determined to use her for the powers she possesses even as she fights with destiny over her new life. I loved Sarah. She had a smart ass mouth and wasn’t afraid to use it. She interacted well with Dorian, a man with no sense of humor and mysterious to the core. Does he have a hidden agenda? Sarah doesn’t know but she is getting dang tired of him pushing her to do all these jobs at the risk of flunking out of school. These two were so much fun to read. Laughing periodically at Sarah’s comments aimed at Dorian was a delight, especially as the action got hotter. JK Coi definitely created some memorable characters that keep the reader glued to the pages. I found some really intriguing secondary characters that I would love to see down the road as well.
THE TROUBLE WITH DESTINY is a fun and wild ride from start to finish. If you enjoy a smart assed heroine, a mysterious hero with no sense of humor but is sexy as sin, a fast paced storyline that leaves you eager for more, then grab THE TROUBLE WITH DESTINY and get ready for the ride of your life. I will definitely check out this “new to me” author’s other books for future reading pleasure.
