CLICK TO PURCHASE! Alitus is a Better, an enhanced human that serves the Empress in all matters be it sexual or political. When political upheaval threatens her realm, Alitus makes the final sacrifice and gives up everything so she can keep an iron control over the realm. What Alitus does in the name of loyalty to the Empress has him facing his deepest and darkest fears. Will Alitus be able to overcome this fear in order to serve the Empress and the realm better or will it all crumble away?

ALITUS is the second book in Ms. Allen’s Tales of the Chosen trilogy and it was a pure gem to read. Ms. Allen continues by giving the reader an in-depth look into the Empress’s right hand man and what makes him tick. I loved the way Ms. Allen captures your attention from the beginning. Alitus is a strong, loyal hero who loves his Empress yet the reader can feel the subtle shift in emotions once he gives up his identity and pride for her. I was blown away by the sheer scope of it all. Ms. Allen does give the reader a bit of a background on the world she created and it helped me understand a few things about the Chosen’s and the world they inhabit. You also meet again Wulf and Luc, two very wonderful characters that readers met in the first chosen book, Wulf. Ms. Allen is a masterful storyteller who delights in keeping her readers on the edge of their seats, eager for more. I was blown away by the raw desires, sexual need and emotions her characters portrayed throughout ALITUS. It kept me glued to the pages, hoping to see what would happen next.

Alitus is a Better, an enhanced human that is bred for intelligence, loyalty and more. Moving past a pleasure slave to the Empress, he gains her trust and loyalty and finds himself as her right hand man, be it political or sexual. When instability hits the empire and threatens the Empress’s iron control, Alitus ends up giving up not just his pride but the identity that makes him who he is. Alitus is a character that intrigued me from the start. He is strong, loyal and very easy on the eyes. With the right amount of emotion, intrigue and sub-plots going on within the story, Ms. Allen creates a powerful story that leaves you breathless and eager for more. Alitus is a complex character who resonates with the reader and I found myself wondering if his love for the empress was powerful enough to overcome even the fears Alitus refused to acknowledge. With some wonderful secondary characters and storylines keeping the story flowing smoothly, Ms. Allen creates a complex story that keeps the reader glued to the edge of the seat. I couldn’t put this one down and frankly, the passionate sex scenes added a sensual balance that was nice to experience.

ALITUS is a pure literary gem and frankly, I am eager for more in this world Ms. Allen has created. With a broad sweep of her pen, this is an author who delights in giving her readers characters we can love and emotional storylines that hit you in the heart. Can Alitus find a way to save the empire or will the machinations of the Empress push him into the arms of one person who stirs a heart he thought belonged to another? I do recommend you read them in order to get the full effect as each story capitulates on the past one (Wulf, Alitus and Jawk). Run; don’t walk, to grab this series as it is truly one that will leave you longing for more. Ms. Allen is one of those authors you have to read again and again. I now have a new favorite author to add to my buy list.
