CLICK TO PURCHASE! Diya Hemant’s mother wants her to get married; sooner rather than later. Diya is holding out for the right man and she is sure he has not entered her world yet. She fears that soon her mother will lose patience and arrange a marriage for her. With the sudden impact of a car accident, Trent Garrison is suddenly thrust into Diya’s life. And she is sure she does not like it. He is a total jerk! But circumstances keep thrusting them together. How long will they be able to resist the building attraction that is taking over their mutual dislike and irritation?
I loved this book! The setting is a little island called Mauritius, a place I knew little of. Our author, Aasiyah Qamar lives there and gives us an insider view of the life of the Indo-Mauritians. Having been born and raised in the United States, this is fascinating to me. Kudos to Ms Qamar for giving us such wonderful insight.
Diya is an independent young woman 24-years of age. Her mother is set in the old Mauritian ways. She thinks that the only way for her daughters to have a full life is to become a wife and mother. Poor Diya has to suffer her mother’s pestering phone calls and visit. I could help but feel for Diya even as it made me smile. I think that her mother has her heart in the right place, even if she is a thorn in Diya’s side.
Then enters Trent. He is another aggravation…at least at first. And I can see where she would want to stay as far away from him as possible. He behaves like a jerk, but a loveable jerk! And his two little sons are just so adorable. It is no wonder that Diya finds herself helping this single father with these two urchins.
And one of Diya’s clients wishes to explore a relationship with Diya as well. He asks her to wait for him until their working relationship comes to an end. For a woman not wishing to get married anytime soon, she certainly has the men lining up! But which one will win her heart?
This is a wonderfully worded story. The prose flows smoothly, the characters are believable and well defined. All in all, LIGHT MY WORLD is a winner for Ms Qamar.
THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THIS BOOK. THIS IS AN OBJECTIVE UNBIASED REVIEW
