Sherrilyn Kenyon is back with a second League novel, BORN OF ICE, a fantasy romance chock full of danger, treachery, surprises and loyalties tested.

Alix Gerran has lived her life as a slave on her father’s starship, working as a mechanic and whore to the ship’s crew in order to earn her keep. With her father’s death, she finds her mother and sister in danger of being sold, or worse, kept as slaves by an evil politico, Merjack. In order to save their lives, Alix has to find or manufacture evidence of treasonous activity by one Devyn Kell, a sexy and dangerous runner who turns out to have more powerful connections than Alix can believe and a kindness and love that she can not ignore.

Sherrilyn Kenyon’s League series is terrific. BORN OF ICE is hot tension and fast placed flying. Devyn Kell is nothing like Alix expected. She is not only extremely attracted to him, she admires him and the way he is trying to do good for those less fortunate. Alix is very much a multifaceted character. She has been taught that her life holds no value and has come to expect the worse of everyone. So when Devyn shows her trust and protection and expresses real emotions for her, Alix finds herself between a rock and a hard place. Her struggle to find a way to save her family and protect Devyn at the same time is heart wrenching. And what happens next will have readers cheering for this endearing couple.

The lesser characters is the story, including an enhanced robot who is possibly one of the most intriguing characters in the book, add real depth to the story and open the door to many possible future storylines. The story itself moves at warp speed and is filled with humor. The revelation from right field that comes in the second half of the book will be a pleasant surprise to readers that enjoyed the first book in this series, Born of Night.

Sherrilyn Kenyon has once again hit the ball out of the field with her latest fantasy romance, BORN OF ICE. This book has success written all over it.
