Jesse doesn’t like vampires and even as his friend Jason falls for one, he tries to avoid them if he can- well, except the one vampire that consumes his waking thoughts- Gabriel. When Jesse witnesses a murder by something other than human, he finds himself calling on the one person who scares him to death yet draws him like no other. Now it’s a deadly chase of cat & mouse as Gabriel and Jesse find themselves drawn in a battle neither anticipated. Can these two find a way to stay alive long enough to see what the future holds for them or will it all be for naught?

BAD BLOOD is the spin-off of Mr. Black’s Blood & Fire series and it is totally one of those books you cannot put down. Mychael Black is a talented author who knows how to draw you into a story and he keeps the tension on high even as these two finally give into their desires while trying to figure out what the heck is going on. With some wonderful new secondary characters and a cliffhanger ending, Mr. Black keeps you on the edge of your seat even as you try to figure out what happens next.

Meet vampire Gabriel, a man shrouded in mystery and drawn to the human Jesse that is in his friend’s Julian’s lover’s band. He doesn’t know what draws him to this man who fears him but also desires him. I loved Gabriel and Jesse together since this author introduced Gabriel in Blood Curse from his Blood & Fire series. Both are strong characters but also have a vulnerable side as well that is shown gradually to the reader. The simmering sexual tension that leads up to their explosive sex scenes kept me wiggling in my seat so make sure you have a bucket of ice or your significant other nearby to ease your tension. With some new characters that keep the story flowing, the reader is drawn into a world of spirits, mystery and magic with a dash of sex thrown in to keep things hot and heavy. I do have to mention there are some scenes of M/M that may not appeal to others.

BAD BLOOD
kicks off the Spirits of Abaddon series and it is definitely one you won’t want to miss. Even though it is a short story, this author packs enough punch within the pages that keeps the reader glued to the very end. I am highly anticipating the next in this wonderful new series and hope this author doesn’t keep me waiting long. If you enjoy a highly charged M/M paranormal story that will have you eager for more, than grab the first book in the Spirits of Abaddon series, BAD BLOOD today and settle in for one wild ride.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
