Dr. Elliott Drake was astounded to find himself fifty years in the future when he wakes from a mysterious coma and the world has radically changed. On top of that, he finds himself with a power that scares the heck out of him as he and his friends trek to find anyone alive. Jade is a woman bent on revenge against the Strangers who held her captive years before. When she meets Elliott and his friends one night, she faces a man who will capture her heart and soul with just a glance and fight side by side against an enemy Elliott has no idea how to kill. Can Jade, Elliott and their new friends find a way to survive as well as the mystery of what happened fifty years ago before it is too late?
BEYOND THE NIGHT is an exciting introduction to a world that will draw you in and captivate you till the last page. I could not put this book down it was that engrossing. Ms. Ware debuts with a bang and this looks to be one exciting series to enjoy. With a fast paced storyline, a fresh take on the apocalypse and intriguing characters, Ms. Ware delves into the story with gusto. Get ready for one wild ride in BEYOND THE NIGHT.
Meet Dr. Elliott Drake and his friends, who after being in a mysterious sleep in a cave, wakes up to find the world they knew gone in a blink of an eye. With powers they have no idea how to control; they trek across the land, looking for anything familiar. Strong, compassionate, Elliott is a man who knows when to take charge and when to step aside. This author captures his strong tough side with the hint vulnerability perfectly. I especially loved it when he and Jade would spar with words and then with touches. These two were such strong characters, they could have been annoying together but with this author’s vision, these two came together perfectly, the ying to the yang. Jade is a woman determined to never trust another man again and when she meets Elliott and his strange friends, she is drawn to the hunky doctor even against her better judgment. Can she trust Elliott even as she craves his touch? Jade is a woman who was beaten down yet dusted herself off and forged a new path for herself. With the right amount of sass, vulnerability and sexuality, Ms. Ware delivers a perfect heroine for Elliott. I, for one, can not wait to see what happens next between these two and their friends.
BEYOND THE NIGHT is an action packed, wild ride from start to finish. Ms. Ware delivers a stunning debut into the paranormal genre with gusto and frankly, she is now on my “author to buy” list permanently. I am eagerly awaiting the next two books in the series. If you enjoy a unique paranormal story that will keep you glued to the pages, then grab BEYOND THE NIGHT and settle in for hours of reading voyage.
