CLICK TO PURCHASE!Isobel has been without her lover, Lancelot Fridwulf, for the last year and she would do anything to get him out of prison. She makes a deal with the Queen’s man that in exchange for Lancelot’s freedom, she would give them Falcon Montague, the thief that has been plaguing the crown. Determined to save her lovers life and to get back the one thing Falcon stole from her, Isobel has to deal with her actions as truths come to light. Will deceit and lies force Lancelot back into prison or will Isobel find the strength to come clean to him as the noose tightens around her?
THE WITCH’S THIEF is the next book in Ms. Ladley’s wonderful Thieves & Lovers series. With the return of your favorite characters from the first two books, A Gypsy Thief and A Wanton’s Thief, we get to see what happens with Lancelot as he finds himself back with the two lovers he has not forgotten. Strong writing, passionate sex scenes and treachery abound within the pages of THE WITCH’S THIEF.
Meet the witch Isobel, a woman who finds herself desperate to save her lover, Lancelot, from prison. With a devil’s bargain with the Queen’s man spurring her, she finds herself entangled as her secrets overlap and threaten to burst free. When Lancelot finds out the truth of Isobel’s deceit, will he be able to forgive the woman he loves or will he walk away from the two people he gave his heart to? Isobel is a heroine driven by revenge, desperation and fear. At first it took me a while to actually like this woman for she came off in the beginning as shallow and selfish but soon after, this author began to show the heart of Isobel as she sought what she desired- the return of her heart and soul, Lancelot. Lancelot is determined to not be a thief anymore and when he is suddenly released from prison, he is curious to know who secured his freedom. Lancelot is a strong character and he seems to not be complete until he is reunited with Isobel and Nikolai. Some secondary characters keep the story moving along nicely and the return of Falcon and his partner, Little John, had me smiling in pleasure.
A WITCH’S THIEF is a fast paced, sensual story that will keep the reader entertained and I do caution that there are scenes that may not appeal to everyone. I do recommend reading the first two books as it helps understand the back story of A WITCH’S THIEF a little better. I am looking forward to the next Thieves & Lovers book and hope the author doesn’t leave me waiting for long.
THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THIS BOOK. THIS IS AN OBJECTIVE UNBIASED REVIEW
