Costa Calabrese never knew his father and has longed for something that he could never name. He loved pushing the limits and seeing his part of the world. That is, until a man walks into his life and he finds the truth of whom he is and what he is destined to do. Costa is about to find that his present & future are about to become more dangerous than he ever imagined. For Costa is the Demon Hunter and he is about to find that even if he wants a different life, blood never lies.

DEMON HUNTER: THE CHOSEN ONE
is the kick-off to a cool trilogy from author Cynthia Vespia. I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first opened this one. Ms. Vespia is a new author to me and I got to admit, DEMON HUNTER was very engaging. The emotions Costa felt within the pages was like looking at a mirror years ago, though I am not a demon hunter like he is destined to become. It had teenage angst, vampires, mysteries and friendships all within the pages of DEMON HUNTER. With some intriguing secondary characters that keep the story flowing smoothly to the mystery of Costa’s father and his future, Ms. Vespia takes the reader on an engaging ride from start to finish. The only complaint I have is that it took me a few chapters to really invest in Costa. He was a hard hero to enjoy at first but after maturing a little, you get to see the inner man he is to become, given time. I really enjoyed the way Costa interacted with his friends and potential rivals. It made me laugh at times as Costa tried to find his way in life, though not without a few bumps and bruises along the way.

If you enjoy a dark fantasy with horror elements, action, adventure, paranormal creatures and more, then DEMON HUNTER: THE CHOSEN ONE is a sure fire winner for you. Ms. Vespia is an author who can create a story so vivid it comes alive within your hands, or computer screen as the case may be. I am looking forward to the next adventure Costa goes on in the upcoming Seek and Destroy, book two of the trilogy.
